This year’s Oneida Christmas Bird Count will be held on January 1, 2008. Our count circle, 15 miles in diameter, is centered at Main and Madison Streets in Oneida, NY (see map below). The Nature Club of Central New York invites birdwatchers from the greater Oneida area to help count all the birds inside this circle.

You need not be an expert at bird identification to participate. We will match novices up with experienced birders. Those who live within the circle may prefer to tally the number of individual birds of each species that visit their feeders and report those numbers.

After a day in the field, participants gather at a compiling session to combine their counts and share their stories of the day. Hot food and beverages will be available.

Contact Brenda Best or call 363-2906 to sign up or for more information.
